KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Wichita State women's golf team continues its spring season on Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Kansas City Intercollegiate.
The Shockers are coming off a record-breaking performance at the Red Rocks Invitational, compiling a team score of 875 to beat the previous 54-hole score program record by five strokes. Wichita State came up with a 294 in the third round after totaling a 289 and a 292 in the previous two rounds, both earning places in the top 10 for lowest 18-hole round score.

Chiara Arya into the scorecard for the first time since the Johnie Imes Invitational on Oct. 3, 2018. Arya compiled a score of 235 in her last outing.Â
Hana Mirnik is coming off the ninth-lowest 54-hole score in program history with a 217 at the Red Rocks Invitational, finishing in a tie for 15th place for her third top 20 finish of the season. Gavrilla Arya compiled the 13th lowest score 54-hole score in program history with a 218, coming in a tie for 22nd at the Red Rocks Invitational.
Laine Evans is coming off a 225 54-hole performance while Annika Chickering came up with a 226 at the Red Rocks Invitational. The Shockers finished in a tie for ninth as a team in their last outing.
Wichita State is 14-0 against the tournament field, finishing ahead of Missouri State and UMKC in the last four meetings. The Shockers recently saw former Missouri Valley Conference foes Creighton and Drake at the Red Rocks Invitational, finishing ahead of Drake by 11 strokes and Creighton by 26 strokes. Other teams participating include Creighton, Drake, Nebraska-Omaha, North Dakota, Oral Roberts, South Dakota and UT-Rio Grande Valley.
The Shockers last competed in UMKC's host tournament in 2017, where Taryn Torgerson won the event with a 224 54-hole score. Evans finished tied for sixth while Gavrilla Arya collected the third top 10 finish for the Shockers after finishing in eighth. Wichita State came up with a second place finish in the team standings.
Creekmoor Golf Club is a par-72, 6,072-yard course. Live stats will be available on Golfstat through each round, with the first 36 holes scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
