Wichita State was outrebounded 41-26, dropping them to 1-11 this season when losing the rebound battle... The Bearcats shot 52.5 percent from the field, a new season high for a Shocker opponent... Youngsters
Wichita State's roster consists of seven true freshmen, one redshirt freshman, one sophomore, two juniors, one redshirt junior and two seniors. All told, the average age of the 2018-19 Shockers is just 19.2 years, making them the fifth youngest team in the country.

The Series vs. SMU
Wichita State and SMU have met seven times prior to Sunday's matchup, with the Shockers holding a slight 4-3 advantage. The first meeting took place in Dec. 1988 with the Mustangs taking that contest in Dallas, 81-59. Wichita State is 2-0 vs. SMU in Wichita. It marks the second straight season the two teams will have met on Feb. 17.

Last Meeting
Wichita State and SMU met just over a little over a month ago in Dallas where the Mustangs handed the Shockers a 78-50 loss on Jan. 15. The win for SMU snapped a four-game win streak in the series for WSU. Wichita State committed 19 turnovers and finished the game shooting 31 percent from the field, while converting just 3-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc. Carla Bremaud scored a team-high 14 points and blocked a season-high three shots. Raven Prince pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.

Scouting the Mustangs

SMU is 8-16 overall and 2-9 in The American with league wins over Wichita State in Dallas and USF. The Mustangs lead the league and rank 13th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (16.0). SMU also ranks first in The American in blocks (104) and blocks per game (4.3), second in rebounds (1016), rebounds per game (42.3) and third in rebound margin (6.0) and free throw attempts (419). Alicia Froling leads the conference in blocks (51) and blocks per game (2.1) and ranks second in double-doubles (9), rebounds (230), rebounds per game (9.6), free throw attempts (125) and offensive rebounds per game (4.0).

Clutch Colbert
Freshman Trajata Colbert hadn't played since Jan. 4, but when head coach Keitha Adams called her number Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Memphis, the Georgia native responded. Colbert played 14 minutes and logged 11 points and 5 boards. Her 11 points were the most she's scored since Nov. 17 when she finished with a season-high 12 against Houston Baptist. Colbert followed that with another 11-point outing on the road at Cincinnati on Feb. 10. She was Wichita State's leading scorer, while playing a season-high 16 minutes off the bench.

Bastin's Boards
Freshman guard Seraphine Bastin has been Wichita State's best rebounders of late. The 5-foot-8 point guard has pulled down six or more rebounds in six of the last eight games, including a season-high 10 twice (vs. Memphis and ECU on Jan. 12 and Jan. 29). She is averaging 6.8 rebounds per game over a eight-game stretch. In conference play (10 games), Bastin has a team-high 62 rebounds - 13 more than the next closest Shocker (Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage, 49) - good for a 6.2 rebound per game average.

Offensive Rebounds > Defensive Rebounds
Redshirt junior forward Raven Prince is on pace to finish the season with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. Through 23 games this season, Prince has pulled down 103 total rebounds and 60 of them coming on the offensive end. That means 58 percent of her rebounds are giving the Shockers another opportunity to score. Wichita State has 281 total offensive rebounds and Prince makes up 21 percent of that number.

Bri Approaches 100
Senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage is just three games away from playing her 100th career game in a Shocker uniform. The Santa Fe, N.M., native has played in 97 games, making 71 starts during her four-year career. So far this season she is just one of two Shockers to start every game - along with freshman guard Seraphine Bastin. As of now, she is on pace to reach No. 100 at USF on Feb. 23.
