WICHITA, Kan. - Senior Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva advanced to the round of eight at the ITA Central Region Championships in Norman, Okla. before bowing out to No. 21 Korashvili (OU) in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
 
Saidhujaeva had quite the run through the singles main draw. She beat her first opponent in straight sets, and in the round of 64 she downed No. 122 Toran Ribes (KU), 5-7, 6-3, 7-5. The round of 32 victory proved to be another straight set win. To get to the quarterfinals, a tough three set match against the eighth seeded Naklo (ISU) was needed. Saidhujaeva ended up winning this one, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (4), before losing in the quarterfinals.
 
The Shockers competed in 24 matches over four days at this event. The doubles pair of Alexandra Lazarova and Natsumi Kurahashi advanced to the round of 32, but they lost to Thamchaiwat/Detkovskaya (OSU), 8-3.
