4/21/2026 11:53:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. — After reaching the American Conference Championship match over the weekend, Wichita State was ranked No. 32 in Tuesday's Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.

Despite falling out of the top 30 for the first time in eight weeks, the Shockers remain firmly in the top 40. They have been ranked in the top 40 since the ITA's computer rankings debuted Feb. 19.

Wichita State remains the highest-ranked team in the American Conference, ahead of Charlotte (No. 33) and Rice (No. 42). The Shockers reached the conference title match before falling to Rice 4-2 on Sunday.

The Shockers have wins over five teams — SMU, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Rice — that appear in this week's ITA rankings. SMU and Kansas are both ranked in the top 40.

Additionally, Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli are ranked No. 42 in doubles, marking their 10th time being ranked together this season. Theodora Chantava also maintained her ranking streak, coming in at No. 94.

The Shockers will wait to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament during the NCAA selection show, which begins April 27 at 3:30 p.m. CT.
