TULSA, Okla. – Junior Murkel Dellien continues his remarkable run, as he pulled off two wins Saturday at the ITA Central Regional to advance to Sunday's semifinal.
 
Dellien makes it to the semifinal for just the first time since former Shocker All-American Phil Cooper in 1995. Dellien faces off against Kareem Allaf of Iowa tomorrow with a spot in the final on the line.
 
Dellien began the day taking on Oklahoma State's Maxim Tybar in the Round of 16. After falling in a close first set (6-4), the junior stormed back to take the second set (6-4). It was all Dellien in the third, as he captured a 6-2 win and a spot in the quarterfinals against Tulsa's Josh Goodger.

It was Goodger who had the home court advantage, where the No. 55-ranked Golden Hurricane took on Dellien at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Dellien started strong and stayed in a rhythm, winning the first set (6-4) over five-seeded Goodger. Dellien turned it up a notch in the second set, rolling past Goodger (6-2) to clinch a spot in the semifinal.

Elsewhere, six shockers played in extra singles matches with differen players from the tournament. Williams knocked off Reinke of North Dakota in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) and fell to Joe Tyler of Iowa, 6-3, 6-1. Ovil took down Nebraska's Jon Meyer 6-1, 6-0 before losing to Gleason of Nebraska (6-1, 6-3). Inoue took the court against Scaglia of Oklahoma State, losing 7-5, 6-0 and defeated Moreno of Nebraska 6-1, 6-0. Eddie took down Lawley of Omaha (6-0, 6-2) and fell to Sitar of North Dakota 6-3, 3-6, 10-3. Frosa recorded a lone victory over Iowa's Larson, 7-5, 7-5. Caligiana defeated Piles of Omaha 6-3, 6-3.
