TULSA, Okla. – Junior Murkel Dellien knocked off No. 34 Ferran Calvo on his way to the Round of 16, Friday, at the ITA Central Regional.
 
Dellien and Haru Inoue teamed up in doubles play to start the day for the Shockers. The pair went head-to-head against Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Reco of Arkansas. After jumping out to an early lead, the Shocker duo fell in a one-set tiebreaker (8-7(2)).
 
Across the way, Marius Frosa and Eddie Stoica were on the court against Oklahoma's Jochen Bertsch and Max Stewart. Frosa and Stoica led 4-2, before the Oklahoma duo won six-straight games to take the match (8-4).
 
Inoue kicked off the action for the Shockers in the Round of 32 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Facing a familiar opponent in Vinny Gillespie of Drake, the senior matched Gillespie throughout the first set, where the two went to a tiebreaker. Gillespie took the tiebreaker, winning the set (7-6 (4). Inoue trailed 5-0 early in the second, only to win the next two games. Gillespie stormed off Inoue's late rally to take the set (6-2).
 
Freshman Orel Ovil took on Kareem Allaf of Iowa in the Round of 32. Allaf started off the match winning three-straight games, and went on to take the set (6-3). It was all Allaf in the second, where he won 6-1.
 
Dellien took on No. 34 Ferran Calvo of Oklahoma for a spot in the Round of 16. After rolling over the two-seed in the first set (6-3), the Santa Cruz, Bolivia native won in the second tied at five by default to advance to tomorrow's Round of 16. Frosa faced off against Maxim Tybar of Oklahoma State. After dropping the first (6-2), Frosa stormed back to win the second (6-4) and force a third. It was close throughout, but Tyber pulled away from Frosa to win 6-4 in the third.
