WICHITA, Kan. – Three members of the Wichita State women's tennis team will compete in the Riviera Women's ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. beginning Tuesday.
"This is always a special event, and opportunity to test ourselves against the best competition in the country in a great setting at the Riviera Country Club," said head coach
Colin Foster. "Fatima, Sandra and Marta have earned the chance to be here and are excited to begin play."

Fatima Bizhukova and
Sandra Honigova received bids into singles qualifying, while Bizhukova joins Bellucco in the main draw of doubles, set to begin Oct. 4.

Bizhukova, who comes into All-Americans ranked No. 36, tallied a nine seed in the field of 64. The junior from Balishiha, Russia, will take on No. 46-ranked Lauryn Baptiste of Arizona State at 12:30 p.m. CT. on Tuesday. Bizhukova advanced to the third round of pre-qualifying in last years All-Americans.

The Shockers' lone senior, Honigova will begin play at 2:15 p.m. CT. Honigova ranks No. 94 in the ITA/Oracle Preseason Rankings and will face off against McCartney Kessler of Florida, who ranks No. 62.

Bizhukova and Bellucco rank No. 14 in doubles play, the highest for a Shocker duo in over 20 years. The tandem are coming off a stellar 2017-18 season, where they knocked off four nationally ranked opponents including wins over two top-10 teams in NCAA Team Championships. The two become just the third duo to compete in the main draw at the Riviera All-Americans. Draws for the main draw will be released later this week.
