Danny Bryan has announced the signing of
Andrea Trapani to the men's tennis team.

Trapani, from Palermo, Italy, is the lone signee for the Shockers in the spring season. Trapani ranked as high as #232 in the ITF Junior World rankings, with over 30 victories in both singles and doubles play.
Trapani qualified for the main draw in 18 ITF Junior Futures events in the 2017 season.  He currently has a Universal Tennis rating - an advanced statistical measurement - of 13.22 (out of a possible 16). Trapani partnered with Giulio Zeppieri to take the doubles championship of the 16th UAE Abu Dhabi ITF Junior Championships last January. Trapani also claimed the singles title at the Nike Junior International –Edinburgh, defeating Emile Hudd of Great Britain.

At the 34th Torneo Internazionale Under 18 de Salsomaggiore Terme, Trapani advanced to the semifinals in doubles play, as well as a round of 16 singles appearance at the 33. Perin Memorial last spring.

The Shockers kick off the spring slate with a trip to Ithaca, N.Y to take on Buffalo and Cornell at the Reis Tennis Center Jan. 24-25. WSU will face Middle Tennessee Saturday, Feb. 17 for their home opener at Genesis Health Club in Wichita.
