Sam Adams Multi Results
WICHITA, Kan. -- Selected Wichita State track and field athletes will compete at the Sam Adams Multi in Santa Barbara, Calif., and the Friends University Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Hunter Veith and
Ben Johnson will compete in the Decathlon, while
Nikki Larch-Miller,
Breanne Borman,
Gavyn Yetter,
Martiesha Caines and
Claudia Rojo will compete in the Heptathlon. The competition begins on Friday in the Decathlon at 2 p.m., Central, with the 100 meters while the Heptathlon begins an hour later with the 100 meter hurdles.
On Saturday's Day two of the multi-events, the Decathlon continues with the 110 meter hurdles at 12:30 p.m., Central, while the Heptathlon continues at 2:30 p.m., Central with the long jump.
Former Shocker student-athlete and current volunteer assistant
Austin Bahner, a Shocker All-American and Team USA member, will also compete in the Decathlon under the Shocker Track Club.
At cross-town Friends University on Friday and Saturday, 17 Shockers will compete in a myriad of events on Biff Green Track at Adair-Austin Stadium.
The meet is a two-day competition with a Distance Carnival taking place under the lights of the stadium on Friday Night (6-10 p.m.). The Saturday portion of the meet will begin with the Hammer Throw at 10 a.m., along with multiple other field events beginning at 11 p.m. Track events will get started on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., and continue through about 6 p.m.
The Friends Invitational will be the largest home track meet in program history with more than 600 athletes scheduled to compete. Other teams scheduled to compete include four NCAA Division II teams, 12 NAIA teams and five junior college teams.
