WICHITA – Wichita State track and field claimed 13 event wins at the Friends First Chance Qualifier as a small group opened their 2026 season on Saturday afternoon in the Heskett Center.

Jason Parrish moved up to No. 2 all-time in Wichita State history in the 60 meters, running 6.75 in his season opener.
Josh Parrish ran sub-eight seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to win the final in 7.91, and
Jonah Allison and
Zander Cobb also won their races on the track, running 2:42.71 in the 1,000 meters and 4:19.75 in the mile, respectively. For the women,
Francesca Alvarado won her Wichita State track and field debut, running 3:11.43 in the 1,000 meters.
Audrey Parson won the 400 in 59.67, and
Kalyn Willingham won the 800 in 2:21.55.

Anna Bundy and
Travon Williams swept the high jump titles, jumping 1.69m/5'6.5" and 2.01m/6'7", respectively.
Isa Evans claimed her first indoor pole vault with a personal-best clearance of 3.75m/12'3.5". In the horizontal jumps,
Sonya Haylor swept the long jump and triple jump titles with jumps of 5.47m/17'11.5" and 11.51m/37'9.25", and
Darius Graham won the long jump with a leap of 7.05m/23'1.75".
