WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State women's golf team has been selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Championship favorites, it was announced Wednesday by the Valley. 

Selected by a pre-championship poll taken by the conference coaches, the three-time defending champions Wichita State figure to be the leading contender in its last ever MVC Championship, held this weekend in Cape Girardeau, Mo., after they received five first-place votes for a total of 93 points in the poll. Bradley was picked to finish second with three first place votes and Southern Illinois in third with two first place votes.

The Shockers are looking to join Illinois State (2008, 09, 10, 11) as the only league teams to win four-consecutive Missouri Valley Conference Championships in a row and look to continue a consistent trend in Valley history in which the pre-championship favorite has won 11 of the last 14 titles.
