MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Taylor Larch-Miller set personal records to win the 60 meters and the 60 meter hurdles, and
Jamesia Milton won her seventh weight throw of the season, as the Shocker women won five titles and the men won two titles with an abbreviated squad at the KSU Miller open Friday night inside Ahearn Fieldhouse.
Larch-Miller ran the 60 meters in 7.58 and the 60 meter hurdles in 8.42 to win both events at the meet, while Milton's 64-10 3/4 throw in the weight throw marked her seventh meet title of the season.
Also on the women' side,
Meg Loontjer and
Page Stuhlsatz finished 1-2 in the pole vault with a height of 11-8 with Stuhlsatz having one more miss.
The fifth title was won by
Lauren Pickens, who ran the 200 meters in a time of 25.87.
On the men's side,
Isaac Poe won the 400 meters with a time of 51.5 and
Taylor Goldsmith won the weight throw with a toss of 65-7.75.
Tyler Knight was runner up in the pole vault with a height of 16-2, while
Hayden Bugner also cleared 6-2 to finish third on more misses.
Also with a runner-up finish was
Jacob James in the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.25.
Another third-place finish included
Kelsey Slawson in the shot put with a toss of 44-4.25.
Wichita State and Kansas State used the meet a tune-up before their respective conference championships and used partial squads. WSU will next be in action as it travels to Cedar Falls, Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa for the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Championship inside the UNI Dome next week.
