WICHITA, Kan. - Freshman Haru Inoue came through with the match-clincher in No. 5 singles to lead No. 67 Wichita State past Nebraska, 4-3, Friday evening at Genesis Health Club.

The Shockers moved to 6-4 on the season with the win, while Nebraska dropped to 3-3 overall.

Wichita State once again relied on its doubles to open the match on a strong note. With wins on courts No. 2 and 3, the Shockers collected the all-important doubles point. No. 22 Miroslav Herzan and Haru Inoue defeated Tomislav Antoljak and Marc Herrmann, 6-3, in the point-clinching match after Sergio de Vilchez and Eddie Stoica took care of business against Bradford Zitsch and Andrew Dzulynsky, 6-4. No. 38 Tin Ostojic and Jocelyn Devilliers saw their five-match winning streak come to an end with a 6-2 loss to Toby and Dusty Boyer.

In singles action, Toby Boyer defeatd Devilliers in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, on court No. 3 to tie the match at 1-1. Stoica then put WSU back in front with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Zitsch at No. 6.

A win at No. 4 singles for Nebraska tied the match at 2-2, but Herzan would give WSU the lead after a three-set win. After Herzan dropped the first set, 6-2, he bounced back to win two and three, 7-6(5), 6-3.

Once again Nebraska would not go away as they forced another tie with Dusty Boyer's win at No. 1 over Ostojic, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Ostojic had won his last five singles matches entering the night.

It all came down to No. 5 singles and Wichita State's freshman from Tokyo, Japan. Inoue took the first set, 6-2, but would drop the second, 7-5. The match would go to the tiebreak where Inoue came through with a 7-3 win.
