Men's Tennis Inks Marius Frosa

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State men's tennis head coach Danny Bryan announced today that Marius Frosa has signed with the team.

Frosa, a sophomore from Galati, Romania, will join the team in January along with other fall signees Jan Poboril, Murkel Dellien and Andrea Caligiana. Frosa is ranked #2,026 in the ITF Singles World rankings.

A transfer from the University of Galati, Frosa qualified for six ITF Futures main draw events. He currently has a Universal Tennis rating - an advanced statistical measurement - of 13.44 (out of a possible 16), which would be the second-highest rating on the team behind Haru Inoue. In August, he had the biggest win of his career when he defeated Mariano Kestelboim - the #462 player in ITF's rankings - in the main draw of the Romania F14 futures event.

"Marius has played at a high level over the past year, shown by the fact that he has qualified at six futures events," said Bryan. "He is going to have an opportunity to compete for a spot in the top half of our lineup. We look forward to him joining the team in January along with Jan, Murkel, and Andrea."

The 2016 Missouri Valley Conference champions open up the spring season on January 12 at 6 p.m. in Tulsa, Okla. for a dual against Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
