USTA/ITA Central Region Draws | Oracle ITA Masters Draws

WICHITA, Kan. - Members of the women's tennis team will compete in the USTA/ITA Central Regional Tournament in Minneapolis, Minn., and in the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif., starting on Thursday, Oct. 13.

Giulia Guidetti and Tanaporn Thongsing will compete at the Central Regional held at the Baseline Tennis Center, hosted by the University of Minnesota. Guidetti, a No. 5 seed in the 128-player field, will face unseeded Natusho Arakawa from Arkansas in the opening round on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. Thongsing, a 17 seed, will play unseeded Annemarie Emme from Minnesota on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Gabriela Porubin will compete in the 2016 Oracle ITA Masters as the 15 seed in the 32-player field. Porubin - No. 74 in ITA's fall rankings - will face No. 18 seed Sydney Liggins out of Xavier in the opening round on Thursday. This marks the second-ever Masters tournament, hosted by Pepperdine. No Wichita State player competed in the inaugural event last season.

At last year's Central Regional in Stillwater, Okla., Guidetti went 6-1 and won the consolation bracket. Porubin also competed in the Regional, going 3-1 and advancing to the round of 16 before being eliminated.
