CARY, N.C. – A straight-set loss to Michigan's Lily Jones on Friday ended Wichita State's
Xin Tong Wang's run at the 2025 ITA All-American Championships.
No. 73-ranked Wang lost 6-2, 6-2 to No. 26 Jones in the singles consolation round of 16, ending the junior's campaign at ITA All-Americans. She went 1-2 overall in singles, with the win coming over Tennessee's No. 19 Catherine Aulia, one of the highest-ranked players ever defeated by a Shocker in program history
Wang is the only Shocker to ever compete in the singles main draw at All-Americans and earned her fifth career singles win at the prestigious competition, after going 4-1 in last season's version of the event.
In doubles, the No. 31-ranked pair of Wang and
Giorgia Roselli went 2-2, winning their two qualifier matches and dropping their two main draw contests. They were the first Shocker doubles pairing to reach the main draw at All-Americans since 2018 and just the third ever.
The Shocker pair will not travel to Lincoln, Neb., to compete in the Husker Invitational over the weekend. Their next action will be with the rest of the Shockers at the 2025 ITA Central Region Championships, Oct. 16-20 at Oklahoma's Headington Family Tennis Center.
