LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Louis Cohen Boyer continued his torrid fall season with a 1-under 141 to lead the Wichita State men's golf team into eighth place at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate. The final round begins Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CST.
Boyer is tied for fifth and only two strokes off the pace heading into the final 18 holes. He has notched a top-10 finish in all but one tournament in the fall season.
Freshman Grant Bennett turned in a solid 5-over 147 to tie for 25th while Chandler Rusk (t-51st) and Alec Heinen (t-67th) improved their second-round scores to help lift the team from 13th to 8th place.
The host school, New Mexico State, leads the team race while Northern Colorado's Ben Kreuger holds the top individual spot with a 3-under 139. Nine players are within three strokes of the lead heading into Tuesday's final round.
