Orlando, Fla. - A steady effort from top to bottom has the
Wichita State University men's golf team in a tie for fifth place after two
rounds at the 18-team Rio Pinar Invitational.
Hunter Sparks leads the Shockers with a 1-under 143, good
for a 12th place tie. Fellow sophomore Rafael Becker carded an even-par 144 to
settle in a tie for 21st.
Tyler Gann's 1-over 145
kept him in the Top 25 as well.
Freshmen Calvin
Pearson and Matt Helms both tallied scores of 149, turning in identical rounds
of 75 and 74, respectively.
Elliot Soyez, competing as an individual, enters the final
round in a tie for 43rd.
The concluding round begins Tuesday morning with a shotgun
start.
