LINCOLN, Neb. – Top-10 finishes by
Emilio Arellano Llamas and Jose Ramirez paced Wichita State to a fourth-place team finish at the Git-R-Done Invitational on Tuesday.
Â
The Shockers posted rounds of 277, 288, and 289 for a team score of 854, two strokes over par. Only the three Power Four teams competing topped the Shockers at Firethorn Golf Club: Iowa State (842, -10), Kansas State (840, -12), and Nebraska (823, -29).
Â
Wichita State improved on its performance from this event last year, both in terms of scores and on the team leaderboard, carding a 13-stroke improvement and finishing five spots higher in the standings.
Â
Dating back to last season, the finish in Lincoln marked the Shockers' best in their last four tournaments, trailing only a third-place result at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on April 1, 2025.
Â
Making his Shocker debut, Llamas posted scores of 68 and 69 in the final two rounds to tie for fifth place on the leaderboard.
Â
Ramirez delivered another strong performance, notching the ninth top-20 finish of his Shocker career and his fifth top-10 result.
Â
Michael Robson posted a 65 in his opening round, the lowest single round by any Shocker since Aston Castillo earned the same score in Round 2 of the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational on Oct. 10. He became just the 14th Shocker to post a 65 in program history.
Â
Wichita State returns to the course Monday, Sept. 29, at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational at Gateway National Golf Links in Edwardsville, Ill.
