Before he was a Shocker... Advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2010 Kansas Amateur tournament... Advanced to the Semifinals and placed 5th at the 2009 Oklahoma Junior Boys Championship... Turned in a 72.90 scoring average on the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour (OJGT)... Led Edmond Sante Fe High School to school-record four tournament teams wins his junior year and matched that total his senior season... Individually, placed in the top three in six of the 12 tournaments in which he played his senior year... Named to Oklahoma Honor Society... Finished in Top 10% of class. 

Personal... Matthew Graham Helms was born March 2, 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma... Son of Carl and Jill Helms and older brother of Holly... Majoring in Political Science with a career goal of playing on the PGA Tour... Chose Wichita State due to "the coaching staff and the facilities."
