COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Wichita State Shockers will
compete in the 2011 Johnnie Imes Invitational hosted by the University of
Missouri this Monday and Tuesday.
WSU last competed in the Johnnie Imes during the 2007-08 season and they
finished in sixth place.
The Imes
Invitational will be the third tournament this fall for the Shockers, who have
participated in the Chip-N Club Invitational and the Marilynn Smith
Invitational.
Junior Gretchen
Huhnerkoch leads the Shocks with a 75.83 stroke average this fall. The Burnsville, Minn. has placed tied
for eleventh and tied for eighth in the Chip-N Club and Marilynn Smith,
respectively.
The 54-hole
tournament will be played at The Club at Old Hawthorne, a par-72 course and you
can follow the Shockers live at golfstat.com. Play will begin each morning with an 8 a.m. shotgun. 36 holes will be played on Monday and
18 holes on Tuesday.
