NORMAN, Okla. - The Shockers women's tennis wrapped up play
today at the Sooner Invitational.
Lutfiana Budiharto was defeated by Marta Lesniak of SMU 6-1,
6-3 in the Singles 'A" flight championship. Delia Damaschin was knocked off by last minute replacement
C.C. Sardinha of Oklahoma State 6-0, 7-5 in the 'B' flight consolation
championship.
Valerie Brockman won 6-0, 7-5 over against Carolina Barboza
of North Texas in the 'D' flight and Veronika Blaskova won 6-1, 6-0 against
Linda Aqvist of Texas-Arlington in 'C' flight. Raphaela Zotter won 2-6, retired-injury in her match against
Kanyapat Narattana of Oklahoma State in the 'B' flight.
In doubles action Blaskova and Brockman were defeated 8-5 by
Starkova/Frampton of Arkansas and Budiharto and Zotter defeated Pfilbsen/Hoath
of Portland.
The Shockers return to action Oct. 2-10 at the 2010
ITA/Riviera Women's Championship in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The Missouri Valley Individuals will be
played Oct. 8-10 in Normal, Ill.
