WICHITA, Kan.-- La'Taish Brown is the WSU Athlete of the Week for the week of April, 26. La'Taish Brown not only captured the women's long jump title but moved into 12th nationally and set a new Wichita State University track & field record as the Shockers were in competition at the Sooner Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 24.

Brown, who had set a previous personal record of 20' 1" last season, blew past that mark with her sixth and final attempt of the day, coming in at 20' 10.5".  It is the second long jump title this season for Brown who later placed ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 35' 11.25".

Brown, who leads the Missouri Valley Conference in the long jump, is also ranked 10th in the Midwest Region in the event.
