WICHITA - The Shocker women's tennis team fought past the fourth-seeded Northern Iowa Panthers, winning 4-1 to earn a spot in Sunday's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference championship.

For the second day in a row, the senior doubles tandem of Florentina Hanisch and Lenore Lazaroiu led the way in doubles competition. The duo took care of business against Sampada Kanade and Jessica Kunzelmann in the No. 2 match, 8-2. Fellow senior Stephanie Dalmacio and sophomore Lutfiana Budiharto clinched the match with their 8-4 victory against Phoebe Walker and Laia Gonzalez.

Keeping the trend the same, sophomore Delia Damaschin won the first singles match just as she did in the Shockers' quarterfinal match. Damaschin defeated Kunzelman in the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 6-1. Katy Delagardelle put the Panthers on the scoreboard when she notched UNI's only victory, a 6-1, 6-2 win against Shocker sophomore Lily Wakim.

No. 48 Budiharto extended the Shockers lead when she topped Walker, UNI's No. 1, 6-2, 6-2. Hanisch finished up the match when she took down Sampaio in the No. 5 position, 6-0, 6-2.

Wichita State (14-10) will face the No. 2 seed Illinois State (18-5) on Championship Sunday. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.
