WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State women's tennis remained ranked No. 26 in the March 31 Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
The Shockers have been ranked in the top 30 for six weeks this season, including each of the past four. The No. 26 ranking is Wichita State's second-highest of the season, trailing only its No. 24 mark on Feb. 24.
The Shockers are the highest-ranked team in the American Conference, ahead of Charlotte (No. 29) and Rice (No. 57).
Wichita State has wins over six teams — SMU, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Rice and Long Beach State — that appear in this week's ITA rankings. SMU, Kansas and Nebraska are ranked in the top 50, with SMU at No. 25.
Additionally,
Xin Tong Wang and
Giorgia Roselli are ranked No. 24 in doubles, their sixth consecutive week in the top 25.
Theodora Chantava also climbed 34 spots in the singles rankings to No. 90, the highest ranking by a Shocker in singles this spring.
The Shockers' next match is against Liberty on April 4 in Denton, Texas.
