•  The Wichita State women's basketball team goes for its record 13th home win of the season on Senior Day against Southern Illinois on Sunday. WSU will honor seniors Marisah Henderson and Ashley Gladden before the game.

•  Southern Illinois holds a 35-22 lead in the series and defeated WSU, 63-56, on Jan. 30. The Salukis have won three of the last 10 and four of the last five meetings with the Shockers. WSU defeated SIU last season on Feb. 27, 2009, by the score of 73-64. Marcy Sudbeck and Marisah Henderson each had 16 points for the Shockers in that game.

•  With a win the Shockers will be assured a winning season for the first time since the 2005-06 team finished 15-13. It would mark just the second winning season for WSU since 2000. The win would also give WSU a 4-3 record in the month of Febuary. The Shockers have posted winning records each month except January, where the team finished 3-5.

•  A win against the Salukis would also give the Shockers a school record 13th home win of the season. The 2005-06 team won 12 home games, a mark that this year's squad tied on Friday with a win over Evansville on Friday. WSU has had at least 11 home wins just five times in school history (2009-10, 2005-06, 1999-2000, 1993-94, 1982-83).

•  The Shockers are trying to close out the regular season on a high-note and avoid the play-in round of the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament for the first time since 2005-06, when WSU finished fifth. The Shockers could finish anywhere from fifth to eighth, marking the first time that WSU will head to St. Charles as anything other than the No. 10 seed.

•  Michelle Price continued her hot streak with an efficient game against Evansville. The freshman from Kingwood, Texas, scored a career-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Price also went 4-of-6 from the free throw line and committed just one turnover in 19 minutes of play.

•  In her last five games, Price is averaging 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in 21.2 minutes per game. In that span she is shooting a remarkable 71.0 percent (22-of-31) from the floor and has collected 16 offensive rebounds.

Sheena Johnson has been putting some time in on the court in the last eight games. Over that stretch the junior is averaging a team leading 12.9 points per game. What's more impressive is she's averaging 34.2 minutes on the court and is routinely given the task of guarding the opponents best player. Last Saturday she held the conference's leading scorer to 10 points on 14 shots.
