WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State put the game out of reach on Clevin Hannah's two free throws with five seconds remaining to hold on for a 66-64 win Sunday night against Missouri State in front of a sold out Charles Koch Arena Homecoming crowd of 10,506.

Led by 40 points from starting guards Toure Murry, Hannah and Graham Hatch, who had the only double-digit games for the Shockers with 15, 15 and 10, respectively, WSU improved to 21-6 overall and 10-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference. 

Missouri State, which fell to 17-9 overall and 7-8 in the MVC, was led by Kyle Weems' 19 points. Nafis Ricks and Jermaine Mallett backed him with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

MSU's Will Creekmore scored five-straight points to give MSU a five-point lead with less than 12 minutes to play, but Wichita State came back despite making only six second-half field goals. 

WSU took the lead for good at the 3:57 mark on two Hatch free throws, building its lead to six twice in the final minute.

Jermaine Mallett hit two 3-pointers in the final 11 seconds, including one at the buzzer, for the Bears after Hannah's game-making charity shots. 

In the opening half, MSU worked its way into a five-point lead, 9-4, at the 15:24 mark, but by the 8:51 mark, WSU had retaken the lead by seven, 20-13 on a Hannah trey.

The Shockers led the remainder of the half, including an eight-point margin, 32-24, at the 2:12 mark that was cut to one, 32-31, as the Bears scored the final seven points to end the first segment.

For the game, WSU out-boarded the Bears, 33-25, and made 29-of-39 at the free-throw line.  Missouri State was 7-of-14 from the stripe.

Wichita State is next in action at home, Wed., Feb. 17, against Evansville.
