Toure' Murry led the Shockers with 13 points and three assists.  J.T. Durley (12 points), Graham Hatch (11 points), and Aaron Ellis (10 points) also finished in double figures for WSU.  Ellis finished the game one board shy of a double-double, leading the Shocks with 9 rebounds.

The Shockers jumped out to an early 8-2 lead behind eight straight points from Durley.  Durley jumped right out of the gate with a jumper from the elbow and then followed that up with a three-point play off of a rebound put-back.  A three-pointer from the left wing at the 16:35 mark gave WSU an 8-0 lead and Durley 1,002 career points.  He became the 39th Shocker to reach 1,000 points.

Kenny Franklin Jr. silenced the Shocker crowd hitting the first field goal for the Colonels with 14:51 left in the first half, WSU up 9-5.  The Shocks extended the lead to 15-7 scoring six straight points with a rebound put-back from Graham Hatch, a turn around jumper from Ellis, and two free throws from Durley.

Wichita State went on another 6-0 run going into the eight-minute media timeout.  Back-to-back layups from Ellis and Ben Smith and a shot down low from Garrett Stutz gave the Shox a 21-12.  Carter ended the run with a drive to the basket bringing the Colonels back within seven, WSU up 21-14.

A steal and a fast-break layup from Dantrell Thomas with a little over four minutes left in the first half brought the Shocker lead down to 21-16.  A Hatch 3-pointer right out of the media timeout pushed the WSU lead out to 24-16.  Toure' Murry gave the Shockers their first double digit lead of the game, 27-17, with a sweeping drive from the left side of the basket with a little over two minutes remaining in the first half.

Two free throws from Murry, an old fashioned three point play from Hatch, and a tip-in from Ellis gave the Shockers a 34-19 lead going into half time.  The Shocks were led by Durley with 10 first half points on 3-for-5 shooting from the field.  Ellis led the Shockers on the boards with five first half rebounds.

Lock-down first half defense held the Colonels leading scorer, Anatoly Bose, to two field goals.  Bose led Nicholls State with seven points at half time.  Bose came into the game averaging 25.3 points per game.

Wichita State continued its domination on the boards outrebounding the Colonels, 22-9, in the first half.

Bose came out of the half firing, hitting his first two shots from behind the arc less than a minute into the second half cutting the Shocker lead to 34-25. Murry stopped the run with a floater in the lane, but Bose answered right back with his third three in the second half, WSU up 36-28.  Wichita State pushed the lead back into double digits, 44-32, with a basket down low from Durley and a fast-break dunk from David Kyles.

Bose scored 11 of the Colonels first 15 points in the second half turning his seven first half points into 18 in an instant.

After back-and-forth action, a post up on the block from Stutz gave the Shockers a 46-34 lead with 13:04 left in the game.  Another basket from Stutz inside pushed the Shockers ahead 50-34.  Bose cut the lead down to 10 with his fourth three-pointer of the half, but Kyles answered right back with a three of his own putting WSU ahead 53-40.

With 4:28 left in the second half, a three-point play from Murry gave the Shockers a 60-42 lead over the Colonels.  Bose added three more points to his total, this time the old fashioned way, cutting the Shocker lead to 62-49.  Smith answered right back with a 3-pointer moving the lead to 65-49.  The Shockers never looked back the rest of the half.

The Shockers outrebounded their seventh opponent of the season, edging the Colonels on the boards, 39-23.
