Balanced Offensive Attack Snaps Three-Game Skid

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State used a blistering second-half shooting display and a barrage of three-pointers to pull away from Mount Marty on Tuesday night, cruising to a 95-69 win inside Charles Koch Arena.

The Shockers (5-4) shot a season-high 61.4 percent from the floor, 50 percent from beyond the arc and outscored the Lancers 52-34 after halftime to remain unbeaten at home, and snapping a three-game losing streak. Eleven different Shockers scored, and the bench poured in 42 points.

Michael Gray Jr. delivered the best outing of his season, finishing with 18 points on 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc, while adding three rebounds and a steal. Thirteen of his points came during a decisive stretch early in the second half, where he drilled four three-pointers in a four-minute span to push WSU's lead from nine to 17.

Gray Jr.'s burst keyed an extended 22-8 Shocker run that blew the game open. Wichita State reached its largest margin at 28 points with 7:11 to play.

Will Berg was a force around the rim, posting his second double-double with 10 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while going a perfect 5-for-5 from the field. His nine first-half rebounds helped WSU dominate the glass (40-19 overall) and set the tone for a physical night in the paint.

Wichita State outscored Mount Marty 44-28 in the paint and grabbed 17 second chance points, thanks in part to Berg's consistency on the offensive glass (five offensive boards).

Kenyon Giles extended his double digit scoring streak to nine with 10 points. Dre Kindell and Brian Amuneke rounded out the double figure scoring with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Amuneke now has back-to-back games with 11 points.

Berg's work inside and Kindell's steady play pushed Wichita State ahead in the first half, but Mount Marty's three-point shooting kept the margin within single digits early.

Wichita State delivered its first major run at the 12-minute mark when Boyd splashed in a transition three-pointer before Kindell drilled one of his own to ignite a 12-2 spurt and give the Shockers a 16-5 edge.

Mount Marty clawed back behind Jake Jenson, who scored 10 first-half points, including a deep three at the buzzer to trim the halftime margin to 43-34.

Gray Jr.'s back-to-back threes at 19:41 and 17:35 quickly extended the lead to double figures. Moments later, he connected from deep on consecutive possessions again—including a pull-up in transition—to push the advantage to 55-38 with 16:23 remaining.

WSU maintained its defensive intensity, forcing nine second-half Lancer turnovers and scoring seven fast-break points. Noah Hill provided a highlight dunk off a feed from Kindell in the closing minutes as the bench sealed the victory.
