Biography
At 7-foot-2, Berg will be tied for the tallest student-athlete to put on a Shocker uniform in the fall, joining Ron Smith (1970-71). He is only the seventh 7-footer on record in program history.Â
2022-25 (Purdue)
In two seasons as a reserve at Purdue, Berg appeared in 36 games over the last two seasons, making three starts... His first two years in West Lafayette, he gained prime experience going against two-time National Player of the Year Zach Edey every day in practice... As a redshirt sophomore, Berg played in 22 games and averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in just 6.1 minutes of playing time... He was 16-for-19 (84.2 percent) from the field... His 84.2 percent shooting from the field is the eighth-highest percentage in NCAA history for players with at least 15 field goal attempts... Through two seasons he has a career field goal percentage of 79.5 percent, the highest field goal percentage in NCAA history for anyone with at least 35 field goal attempts... Thirteen of his 31 career field goals are dunks. He set season highs in minutes (17), points (7) and rebounds (7) in a Nov. 8 win over Northern Kentucky... In 2023-24, he saw action in 14 games and posted 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game, while helping the Boilermakers make it to the national title game, eventually falling to the defending champs UConn.
High School
An under-the-radar recruit, Berg committed to the Boilermakers after turning down offers from Illinois and Utah State... Berg represented Sweden on the U16 and U18 National Teams, and competed in the U18 Nordic Championships.
