LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Wichita State University track & field team sent several Shocker athletes across the country with the men's and women's pole vaulters in Reno, Nev., for the Pole Vault Summit while the Shocker multi-event athletes were taking part in the Nebraska Multi-Challenge beginning on Friday, Jan. 29.
Senior Chris Dickman started off the meet strong for the Shockers as he captured the men's 60 meter dash title in a time of 6.99, only .01 off his top personal mark. Dickman later placed third in the men's long jump (6.88 meters), eighth in the shot put (11.10 meters) and third place in the men's high jump (1.96 meters). Dickman finished the day at 2990, in fourth place.
Seniors Justin Taylor finished right in front of Dickman in third place in the 60 meter dash (7.17) and then followed that up with a second place showing in the men's long jump (6.93 meters). Taylor finished third in the men's shot put (13.39 meters) and totaled a 2998 on Friday.
Redshirt freshman Devin Dick tied for fifth in the men's high jump (1.87 meters) and recorded a score of 2587 while Jordan Zerr was sixth in the shot put (11.19 meters) and totaled 2655.
