WICHITA, Kan. ? Three Wichita State volleyball student-athletes have been named to the 2008 CVU.com Stellar Spiker Team.
Emily Stockman and
Kelly Broussard were named to the second team, while
Mary Elizabeth Hooper was named honorable mention.
Stockman, a junior outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., earned Valley Player-of-the-Year honors, while averaging 3.65 kills, 0.29 aces, 3.07 digs and 0.58 blocks per set. She was also named to the all-Central Region first team and an honorable mention All-American by the AVCA.
Broussard, a senior libero from San Antonio, Texas, earned Valley Libero-of-the-Year honors, while averaging 5.38 digs per set. She was also named to the all-Central Region first team, an honorable mention All-American by the AVCA and set the MVC record for career digs with 2,202.
Hooper, a freshman setter from Plano, Texas, earned Valley Freshman-of-the-Year honors, while averaging 10.47 assists, 1.28 kills, 1.94 digs and 0.54 blocks per set. She was also named the CVU.com Freshman-of-the-Year as well as earning all-Central Region Freshman-of-the Year honors.
