WICHITA, Kan. – Tulsa hit .261 on the way to a 3-1 win over Wichita State (10-5, 2-1). The Golden Hurricane (12-3, 2-1) won by scores of 16-25, 25-19, 32-30 and 25-14.

Sydney Dunning led the Shockers with 14 kills and 10 digs, while
Jordan Heatherly had 28 assists and
Gabi Maas had 14 digs.

WSU used an 8-0 run to take a 10-5 lead in the first set. An
Emerson Wilford kill pushed the lead to 17-11 and a
McKenzie Jones kill brought the Shockers to set point at 24-15. WSU won the set 25-16 on a kill by
Elinor Engel.

The second set went back and forth until the Golden Hurricane ended the set on a 5-0 run to take a 25-19 win.

Tulsa took an early 7-4 lead in the third set, but the Shockers pulled within 9-8 on a block by
Brooklyn Leggett and
Maddie Wilson. A Shocker attack error gave Tulsa a 16-12 lead, but the Shockers chipped away until tying it at 22 on a block by Heatherly and
Allie Paulsen. The teams traded points until Tulsa was finally able to score two in a row for a 32-30 win.

The Golden Hurricane used a 7-1 run in the fourth set to pull away for a 20-11 lead. They ended the set on a 4-0 run to close it out 25-14.

The Shockers are next in action on Sun., Oct. 5 when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on Tulsa at 1 p.m.
