PEORIA, Ill.- The Wichita State women's golf team has started play at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament hosted by Bradley. The Shockers are in ninth after the first day of play with a 335. Southern Illinois is leading the competition with a 306 with Missouri State only three strokes behind.
Senior Catalina Guacaneme is currently leading the Shockers with a first round of 79. Guacaneme is currently tied for 14th and is only five strokes for tournament leader, Danielle Wolter of Evansville (74).
Sophomore Krista Hrdlicka is currently tied for 27th with a round of 82, while sophomore Megan Bartlett is three strokes behind with an 85 and is tied for 37th.
Sophomore Ashley Parker and senior Nicole Lloyd are both tied for 51st with a first round of 89. Junior Jamie Raines rounds out scoring for WSU with a 90 and is tied for 53rd.
The second round of play will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, April 16.
