Lincoln, Neb.- The Wichita State women's golf team finished play at the 2006 Chip-n-Club Invitational at the Yankee Hill
Country Club in sixth place with a three-round total of 981 (331-333-317).
WSU posted better rounds on Tuesday
with better weather conditions including the third round score of 317, which was 14 strokes better than its previous rounds.
The Shockers finished the first day with an overall score of 664 (331-333) after battling through cool temperatures and gusty winds.
Tournament host, Univ. of Nebraska won the invitational by posting a score of 929 (317-306-306), which was six strokes better
than the second place team, Campbell.
Sophomore, Krista Hrdlicka, led the Shockers with a score of 243 (83-82-78),
which tied for 24th. WSU senior Nicole Lloyd placed 32nd after posting a 247 (85-85-77).
Fellow senior Catalina
Guacaneme was one stroke short of Lloyd, who finished tied for 33rd with a score of 248 (80-83-85). Sophomore Megan Bartlett was not far behind with an
overall score of 249 (83-83-83) which was tied for 37th. Junior Jamie Raines rounded out WSU scoring with a 252 (87-86-79), which tied for 45th.
The Shockers now prepare for the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind., at the Warren Golf Course on Sept. 23-24.
