Openers
• Wichita State set a program record for consecutive wins in the 2026 season, winning 19 consecutive matches from Jan. 31 to April 18.
• The Shockers earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament and are the No. 3 seed in the Norman Regional, hosted by Oklahoma.
• Wichita State has been ranked as high as No. 24 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings this season and is currently No. 32.
• Wichita State is 21-4 this season and 12-4 away from Wichita.
• The Shockers are 13-3 against nonconference opponents this season.
• Wichita State's 21 wins are its most in a season since 2016, when it won a program-record 27 matches.
• The Shockers are 2-3 against ranked opponents this season, and 0-2 against teams in the top 30.

The Eddins Era
• Wichita State women's tennis began its first dual season under head coach Jacob Eddins, who was named the ninth head coach in program history on Sept. 15, 2025. The Eddins era began with a 4-0 win over Texas State on Jan. 17 in Norman, Oklahoma.
• Eddins came to Wichita from Illinois, where he served as associate head coach for two seasons, compiling 32 dual-match wins and earning two NCAA Tournament bids.
• Eddins' stint at Wichita State is his first as a head coach.
• Eddins became the fifth Shocker head coach to win his debut and improved the program's record in head coaching debuts to 5-4.
Last Match Recap
• Wichita State fell in the American Conference Championship match to No. 51 Rice, 4-2, on Sunday, April 19, at Rice's George R. Brown Tennis Center.
• The Shockers took doubles from Rice, but the Owls grabbed four of six singles courts to claim the American Championship.
In the Rankings
• Wang and Roselli were ranked No. 46 in doubles in the April 30 ITA rankings. The pair has been ranked as high as No. 9, the highest doubles ranking in program history.
• Wichita State was ranked No. 34 as a team, its 11th time being ranked in the top 40.
• Chantava was ranked No. 97 in singles.
Remnants of the Past
• Wichita State finished 13-10 last season, reaching a national ranking as high as No. 47 and ending the year at No. 60.
• The Shockers return 95.1% of their dual-match win production from last season and added an experienced transfer in Vichitraporn Vimuktananda.
• Seven Shockers have at least two years of playing experience; five are academic seniors or graduate students.
• The five Wichita State seniors are the most on the roster since the 2019-20 season, when the Shockers had seven.
Doubles Is the Key
• This season, the Shockers are 19-2 when winning the doubles point and 2-2 when they do not.
• The Shockers won 15 consecutive doubles points before North Texas snapped the streak on April 5.
• Long Beach State and Rice are the only teams this season to defeat Wichita State after losing the doubles point.
At the NCAA Tournament
• Wichita State is making its 13th all-time appearance at the NCAA Tournament and first since 2018. 
• The Shockers are 2-12 at the NCAA Tournament, recording wins in 2018 and 2007.
• Wichita State was an at-large selection to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, notching just its second-ever at-large bid.
• Wichita State's two previous wins in the NCAA Tournament have come as the No. 3 seed in its regional.
• The Shockers are 2-5 all-time in the NCAA Round of 64 competing as the No. 3 seed.
SMU Notes
• Former Wisconsin head coach Kelcy McKenna is in her first year at the helm of the Mustangs.
• SMU has a record of 15-7 this season and went 7-5 in ACC play.
• The Mustangs were bounced from the ACC Tournament in the third round by No. 33 Stanford on April 16, 4-3.
• SMU is making its third appearance at the NCAA Tournament in the last four seasons and first since joining the ACC in 2025.
• The Mustangs are 9-13 all-time competing at the NCAA Tournament and are 6-6 in the first round. 
• SMU has two players ranked in singles, with Amelie Van Impe ranked No. 25 and Sophie Llewellyn at No. 88. The doubles pairing of Van Impe and Caroline McGinley is ranked No. 31.
• The Mustangs played 11 ranked opponents in 2026, going 5-6 against those teams.
Series History vs. SMU
• SMU narrowly leads the all-time series with Wichita State 7-6.
• SMU has dominated the series in recent meetings, winning five of the last six matchups.
• Wichita State took down the Mustangs in their meeting earlier this season on Jan. 19, 4-2.
• The teams are 1-1 playing at neutral sites, with SMU winning the lone postseason meeting on April 23, 2021, 4-0.
