SARASOTA, Fla. — Wichita State begins play in the 2026 American Men's Golf Championship on Monday at the Ritz-Carlton Members Club.
 
The Shockers enter Sarasota nearly a month after their last competition, where they finished 11th at the Tiger Invitational on April 7.
 
This season, Wichita State has notched six top-five team finishes, including two during the spring. That includes a fifth-place finish at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, where the Shockers secured two top-50 wins, including No. 45 South Florida, the No. 2 seed at the American Championship.
 
Individually, Wichita State has recorded 15 top-20 finishes, led by Jose Miguel Ramirez with seven. Ramirez finished last season as the American Conference runner-up, firing a 12-under 204. He leads the Shockers this season in stroke average (70.9), birdies (120) and eagles (6).
 
Wichita State owns a team stroke average of 286.43 this season, which ranks as the third-best mark in program history.
