WICHITA, Kan. — The Wichita State men's tennis team has been slotted as the No. 5 seed for the upcoming American Conference Championship at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
With the American Conference not playing a full dual-match schedule, seeding is determined by team ITA rankings.
Wichita State played just three American Conference opponents in the regular season, going 2-1 with wins over UTSA and Charlotte and a loss to Tulsa.
This marks the Shockers' highest seed at the American Conference Championship since 2021, when they were also the No. 5 seed.
As a top-five seed, Wichita State earned a first-round bye and will advance directly to the quarterfinals.
The Shockers are 3-7 all-time at the American Conference Championship, reaching the semifinals in 2019 and 2021.
Wichita State will face No. 4 seed South Florida on Friday, April 17, at 10 a.m. CT at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
