3/2/2026 12:00:00 PM

WICHITA, Kan. -- Wichita State volleyball and head coach Chris Lamb announced the 2026 spring schedule on Monday.

The Shockers open the spring slate at home against in-state foe Kansas on Saturday, March 28, welcoming the Jayhawks for a 10:00 am first serve. The following Friday, April 3, Wichita State hosts the annual Black & Yellow Scrimmage at Charles Koch Arena, with a start time set for 5:00 pm.

From there, the Shockers go on the road for a pair of tournaments. WSU heads to Kansas City on April 11 and Gretna, Nebraska on April 25 for the Premier Nebraska Showcase hosted by Creighton.

Lamb and the Shockers are coming off a 19-11 season that included an 11-6 mark in American Conference play. Wichita State advanced to the semifinals of the American Championship before falling in five sets to Rice.

Wichita State returns an experienced, veteran roster led by seniors Sydney Dunning, Jordan Heatherly, Gabi Maas, and Maddie Wilson. Middle blockers Allie Paulsen and Elinor Engel, defensive specialist/libero Grace Hett, and setters Hannah Hawkins and Sarah Musial all saw significant time in the rotation in 2025. A talented group of underclassmen is also back for year two in the program, including outside hitters Olivia Cohee, Jenna Cubbage and McKenzie Jones, plus middle blocker Janaya Weitkemper.

Lamb returns for a 27th season at the helm of the Shockers. The record-setting head coach enters 2026 with a career record of 545-261.
