COLUMBIA, Mo. — Wichita State stormed back to beat Drake, 3-2, before falling to Missouri, 12-4, in six innings Friday at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
Â
The Shockers (9-6) upped its win streak to six in a row with the win over Drake, but saw it come to an end vs. Missouri.

Wichita State 3, Drake 2
Â
Neither team could break through against the opposing starting pitcher through the first four innings as the score remained 0-0.
Â
In the bottom of the fourth, Drake loaded the bases, but Wichita State starter
Jade Sanders induced a flyout to keep the game scoreless.
Â
Sanders was not as fortunate in the fifth. The Bulldogs again loaded the bases and scored the game's first runs on a two-run single.
Â
In the bottom of the sixth,
Trinity Allen broke through for the Shockers with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 2-1. It marked the first home run of her DI career after a prolific junior college stint. After
Johnna Schroeder singled and
Chloe Rhine walked,
Mackenzie Rooney tied the game with a single to shallow center field.
Â
With the score tied in the bottom of the seventh,
Ausha Moore led off with a double and
Gabby Scott walked.
Kinzey Woody moved the runners up with a sacrifice bunt, and Allen was intentionally walked to load the bases, bringing Schroeder to the plate.
Â
With the bases loaded and one out, Schroeder lifted a fly ball deep enough to left field to allow Skylar Rodgers to score on a sacrifice fly, giving Wichita State the walk-off victory.
Â
Sanders (2-2) tossed a complete game in the win, allowing two runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. Moore reached base in all four plate appearances, going 2-for-2 with two walks.
Â
Wichita State 4, Missouri 12 (6)
Â
After going scoreless in the first two innings, Moore tallied her third hit of the day — a no-doubt, two-run home run to dead center — to give the Shockers a 2-0 lead.
Â
In the following inning, Allen added another RBI, driving in Scott to extend Wichita State's lead to 3-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, Missouri got to Shocker starter
Ryley Nihart, scoring four runs to chase her from the game. Facing
Ava Sliger, the Tigers added a two-run home run to push across their fifth and sixth runs of the inning, taking a 6-3 lead.
Â
Missouri added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth against
Gabby Fakes to extend the lead to 8-3. Schroeder got a run back for the Shockers in the top of the sixth with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 8-4.
Â
In the bottom half, Missouri scored four runs. The final two came on a single down the right-field line that ended the game in run-rule fashion.
