Jason Foster, Wichita State's Pitching Strategist and Director of Analytics, joins the podcast to discuss life as a conduit between technology and a pitcher.

We talk about why he chose the analytics path into coaching, why he coaches and where he operates during games. We talk about how he works with athletes to understand how they can benefit from technology and when to keep the sport simple. Foster gives us his impressions of Shocker pitchers Brady Hamilton, Brok Eddy and Ethan Rogers, all of whom likely figure into the starting rotation. We also discuss reliever Karsen Richard and how changes made over the fall should help him.

Foster joined the coaching staff last fall after spending the previous four years at Tread Athletics, a sports development facility in Charlotte. He played at Wright State and Iowa from 2015-19 and coached at Wright State. He is a native of Grove City, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus.
