WICHITA – Wichita State track and field snagged 17 event wins in its regular season finale, and the Shockers honored their 20 seniors Friday afternoon at the Shocker Open.

Three Shockers recorded marks to put themselves in qualifying position for the NCAA West Preliminaries.
Aurora Wessel ran a personal-best 13.47 to win the 100-meter hurdles, moving up to 38
th in the west region and seventh in the American Athletic Conference.
Blake McCormick threw a personal-best 64.75m/212'5" to win the javelin, moving up to 43
rd in the west region and sixth in the AAC.
Jason Parrish moved up from 25
th to 23
rd in the west region in the 400-meter hurdles, running a personal-best 50.72 to win the event. Wessel ties for No. 4 in Wichita State history, and Parrish improved his time at No. 5 in Shocker history.

Tyler Carroll also won an event title, running a personal-best 14.01 to win the 110-meter hurdles and improve his time at No. 8 in school history.

The Shockers swept the hammer throw titles with
Samantha Marx throwing a season-best 52.24m/171'5" and
Loudan Hicks throwing 59.37m/194'9" to win his third-straight hammer competition.

Wichita State also swept the javelin titles with
Jenna Kuepker joining McCormick as a champion with a throw of 46.57m/152'9".

In the 100 meters,
Jaleel Montgomery won his second race of the season with a time of 10.38, and in the triple jump,
Grace Lange jumped a personal-best 12.06m/39'7".

Wichita State will compete in the AAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 15-17 in Charlotte, N.C. to kick off the postseason.
