SAN DIEGO — Wichita State's Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli defeated Colorado's Lera Alexin and Rixt van der Werff Thursday evening in a super-tiebreak to advance at the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championships.
 
The Shocker pair defeated the Buffaloes 6-1, 4-6, 1-0 (8) to advance to the round of 16. It marked the first-ever Shocker win at the ITA Conference Masters.

In the first set, Wichita State came out strong, using a potent offensive attack to take a 3-0 lead that led to a swift 6-1 victory.
 
In the second set, the Buffs responded, taking leads of 4-2 and 5-3 to put themselves in position to even the match. The Shockers won the following game to make the score 5-4 and had a chance to extend the set, but Colorado won a hard-fought deuce point to take it 6-4 and force a super-tiebreak.
 
In the super-tiebreak, the teams traded blows, splitting the first 14 points evenly at 7-7. Colorado won the next point to go up 8-7, but the Shockers took control, winning the next three points to claim the tiebreak 10-8 and advance to the round of 16.
 
The Shockers will face Presbyterian College's Mackenzie Davis and Ladina Bruhin on Friday for a spot in the quarterfinals. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. CT.
