STILLWATER, Okla. – Four Wichita State men's tennis players are slated to begin competition Thursday in Oklahoma State's Cowboy Classic at Greenwood Tennis Center.
The four Shockers making the trip are
Luke Bracks,
Amir Milushev,
Zaid Al Mashni and
Pablo Roche Alcaya. They will compete against players from Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, SMU and Tulsa.
The Cowboy Classic is an annual tournament that includes both doubles and singles brackets. The singles draw is made up of 16 players, and the doubles draw consists of eight pairings. There will be both a doubles and singles champion crowned.
In doubles, Al Mashni will pair up with Alcaya, and Bracks will join forces with Milushev for the weekend of competition.
In their most recent event, Al Mashni made a strong run to the round of 16 at ITA Central Regionals back on Oct. 12. Alcaya also earned a main-draw victory at regionals, his first as a Shocker.
Each day in Stillwater will begin with doubles action, with singles to follow.
The Cowboy Classic offers free admission all weekend for those wanting to attend. The current schedule is below.
Friday: 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
