Wichita State Partners with Vet Tix and 1st Tix

11/11/2025 10:00:00 AM

WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State Athletics has partnered with Vet Tix and 1st Tix to provide donated event tickets for military members, veterans, and first responders. The partnership expands on ongoing Shocker FaithFULL efforts to make Shocker Athletics more accessible and to welcome even more members of the community into our venues.

Vet Tix provides free donated tickets to all service members and veterans of the U.S. military, as well as immediate family members of service members killed in action. The 1st Tix program, powered by Vet Tix, provides free donated tickets to law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, nurses, and 911 dispatchers—both active and retired.

As part of this initiative, Wichita State has provided Vet Tix and 1st Tix with a number of complimentary tickets to WSU men's basketball games, along with additional donations for select men's games and other sporting events. Tickets will be distributed through VetTix.org and 1stTix.org to eligible military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

"This partnership is important to us because it aligns with our commitment to being more accessible and more engaged with the community," said Wichita State Associate AD/Chief Revenue Officer Cole Chisholm. "Through our Shocker FaithFULL planning efforts, we're focused on making it easier for more people to experience Shocker Athletics, and Vet Tix and 1st Tix help us do exactly that."

Signing up is simple and free. Eligible users can create an account at their respective platforms—VetTix.org or 1stTix.org—verify their status and immediately begin viewing available ticket opportunities. The platforms are mobile-friendly and allow users to easily claim tickets, receive notifications, and stay engaged with events across the region.

Tickets are available to claim for the Thursday, Nov. 13 men's basketball game against Loyola-Chicago at 6:30 p.m. at Charles Koch Arena. Eligible users can claim tickets at the following link: https://www.vettix.org/event/589841

Vet Tix provides experiences that reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories, and encourage service members, veterans, and first responders and their families to stay connected to their communities.
