LINCOLN, Neb. – Wichita State's
Yared Kidane broke his second school record in as many meets, clocking a 1:18.06 in the 600 meters to win the race and set a new meet record Friday afternoon at the Prairie Wolf Invitational in the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

The redshirt-junior from Sweden won his second-straight race in his first track and field season with the Shockers and now holds both the 600 yards and 600 meters school records.

Two other Shockers ran Wichita State all-time top-10 times as redshirt-junior
Audrey Parson won the 600 meters with the third-fastest time in school history, 1:35.36, and freshman
Faith Ekart won the 1,000 meters with the ninth-fastest time in school history, 2:57.32. Redshirt-junior
Lea Jerkovic finished right behind Ekart in the 1,000, taking second with a time of 2:57.68.

Wichita State recorded seven top-three placements in the field events, including three in the pole vault. Freshman
Abby Rexford and redshirt-sophomore
Isa Evans both cleared 3.50m/11'5.75" to take second and third, respectively, in the women's competition, and freshman
Carson Ratzlaff jumped 4.35m/14'3.25" to place third in his Shocker debut.

In the long jump,
Kielon McQuarters and
Lexi Gagnon each recorded third-place performances, jumping 6.53m/21'5.25" and 5.17m/16'11.5", respectively, and in the high jump, redshirt-freshman
Natalie Hill cleared 1.54m/5'0.5" to take third.

Over in the throws, sophomore transfer
Loudan Hicks threw a foot and a half personal best of 18.13m/59'5.75" to place third and move up to No. 4 in the American Athletic Conference standings.

Destiny Masters also threw a big personal best with a mark of 13.46m/44'2", almost a full meter farther than her previous best. She took fourth with her mark and ranks seventh in the AAC.
