TULSA, Okla. – Wichita State men's tennis duo

Kristof Minarik pulled off two upset wins in pre-qualifiers over the weekend to reach Monday's qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships at Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Shocker duo started the weekend with a stunning, come-from-behind victory over Texas A&M pairing Ritesh Patil and Matthis Ross, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 1-0 (10) on Saturday evening. The Shockers then pulled another upset, this one in straight sets over Ohio State's William Jansen and Christopher Li, 7-5, 6-4 on Sunday night to advance into the qualifier bracket.Â

Only two other duos from the American Athletic Conference will play in the qualifier rounds, both from Tulsa in Gus Tettamble and Timothy Seger as well as Luis Felipe Miguel and Adam Bojkovic

The Wichita State pair will look to continue their run on Monday afternoon at 3:00 PM at in Tulsa, where they will face Florida State duo Erik Schiessl and Joshua Dous Karpenschif.Â

A win will send the Shockers into the next round of qualifiers against either Carl Overbeck and Theo Dean of UC-Berkeley or Nate Bonetto and Gabriele Brancatelli of Georgia Tech.
