HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Head coach
Kirk Hunter is sending a group of Shockers to race at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic, hosted by Hutchinson CC Friday evening at the Fun Valley Sports Complex.

The women will race in the 3-mile at 8:30 p.m., followed by the men in the 4-mile at 9:05 p.m. to open up the 2024 cross country season.

Wichita State will race against athletes from Barton County CC, Bethany, Bethel, Butler CC, Central Christian, Coffeyville CCDodge City CC, Garden City CC, Hesston, Hutchinson CC, Neosho CC, Northwest Kansas, Sterling and York.

Wichita State freshmen,
Faith Ekart,
Emily See and
Kalyn Willingham, along with sophomore transfer from Southern Illinois,
Jonah Allison, will make their Shocker debuts, while junior
Ian Hunter and redshirt-freshmen
Colin Graham,
Bennett Meoli,
Landen O'Neill and
Colin Graham will race for the first time in uniform for the Shockers. Sophomore
Isabelle Hartnett, redshirt-juniors
Riley Vandaveer and
Audrey Parson, and senior
Farrah Miller will also make their cross country season debuts.

Wichita State's women's 3-mile record is held by Susan Hammock, who ran 16:24.7 in 1983, and the men's 4-mile record was set by George Collier in 1981 when he ran 19:04.00.
