WICHITA – Wichita State track and field opened its outdoor season at home with the Shocker Spring Invitational, winning seven individual events titles.

Zander Cobb gave the Shockers their lone night-one victory, winning the 3,000 meters in 8:31.43, the seventh-fastest time in school history.
Lucy Ndungu also recorded a WSU top-10 time in the event, running 9:53.40 to place second.

Freshman
Jordan Rider made his Shocker debut in the javelin on day one, placing second with a throw of 55.91m/183'5".

Destiny Masters claimed the Shockers' first day-two win, clearing 1.76m/5'9.25" to win the high jump after placing third in the javelin with a personal-best 41.50m/136'2" on night one.

Freshman
Josh Parrish and senior
Joseph Holthusen battled it out in the 110-meter hurdles with Parrish claiming the win in 14.17 in his outdoor debut, while Holthusen finished second in 14.32.

Parrish went on to place second in the long jump with a leap of 7.32m/24'0.25", while his twin, Jason, finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a fast debut time of 52.96, the second-fastest time in the conference.

Also shining in their freshman outdoor debut,
Kate Campos ran a 1:02.09 to win the 400-meter hurdles and finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.32.

In the 400 meters,
Sydney Brown ran a big personal best of 55.84 to win the event, over a second faster than her previous outdoor record.

Weston Hulse claimed victory in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.65m/15'3", and
Chidera Okoro won the triple jump with a mark of 11.72m/38'5.5".

Brady Palen put up a conference-leading marking of 2.17m/7'1.5" to take second in the high jump in his outdoor debut.

The Shockers return to action in Cessna Stadium Wednesday, April 3 for the Wichita State Combined Events before heading to Friends on April 4 for the Friends Spring Open.
