FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Wichita State defeated UT Arlington, 6-1, in the first game of the day Saturday, before falling to No. 15/14 Arkansas in 5 innings, 15-4.
Wichita State (6-3) is now 2-3 against ranked teams this season with the loss to Arkansas snapping a four-game win streak.

Four Shockers recorded multi-hit games, including
CC Wong and
Addison Barnard. The top two hitters in the lineup both had a double, home run and two RBI.
Sami Hood went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Mila Seaton registered her first game with multiple hits, going 2-for-2 with her first career RBI.
Sydney Zenon and
Taylor Sedlacek each had a triple to their names.
Alison Cooper improved to 2-1 in the circle behind 6.0 strong innings. She allowed just one run on seven hits, one walk and two strikeouts.
Chloe Barber tossed the final inning, striking out a pair.
A shaky top of the first gave UTA an early 1-0 lead. Luckily it didn't last long thanks to Barnard's fourth home run of the season. Her solo shot in the home half tied the game at 1-1.
Wichita State then grabbed a 2-1 lead in the second after a Zenon triple and Seaton sac fly.
The Shockers would a single run in the third and fifth innings on a Wong home run and Hood RBI double.
In the sixth, Wichita State tacked on two more for good measure behind Wong's RBI double and Barnard's sac fly.

CC Wong provided nearly all the offense for the Shockers, going 2-for-2 with a home run and three RBI.
Alex Aguilar was saddled with the loss. She allowed five runs on three hits and a walk.
Lauren Howell was only able to record one out before allowing four runs on three hits and a walk.
Alison Cooper recorded the final two outs, but not before the Razorbacks touched her up for six runs, two unearned, on four hits and a walk.
After two scoreless innings, Wong finally opened the scoring behind her fourth home run of the season. Arkansas would answer with a two-out, two-run shot in the home half of the third to take a 2-1 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Wong would come through once again. With the bases loaded and two outs, the lefty laced a two-run single through the right side to put the Shockers back in front, 3-2.
The bottom of the fourth was an inning to forget for the Shockers. Arkansas blew it wide open behind a 13-run, nine-hit frame.
